Famoo news by email: your privacy

This page is about our mailing list: the "Get launch news" form on famoo.app. The Famoo app has its own privacy notice. Signing up for news does not create a Famoo account.

Who we are

GEMINAI LTD, company number 13946343, 69 Nethergreen Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S11 7EH, makes Famoo and decides how this information is used. Email [email protected]. GEMINAI LTD is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZC288805.

What we keep

• Your email address.
• Your first name and postcode area (like S11), only if you give them.
• That you told us you are 18 or over.
• What you said yes to (launch news, new features and tips, partners' offers), the exact words you saw, when, and each later change.
• Where you came from: the code in the link that brought you (for example a school newsletter or a friend's share link) and the campaign it belongs to.
• A record of what happened (signed up, confirmed, changed choices, left), without your email address in it.

We never ask about your children, and the list has no place to store anything about them.

To stop the form being misused, we briefly count sign-ups per network. We keep a scrambled code made from your IP address, never the address itself, and delete it within two hours.

Why

• To email you what you said yes to. The law we rely on is your consent. We send nothing until you confirm by pressing the button in our first email, and each kind of email has its own box.
• To know which links and partners bring families to Famoo, so we spend our time well. This is our legitimate interest; we use the link's code, not anything about you.
• To prove what you agreed to and that we did what you asked.

We do not sell or share your email. Partners' offers come from Famoo; partners never get your address. Our emails have no tracking pixels: we do not track whether you open them.

How long we keep it

• If you never confirm: deleted after 30 days.
• If you stop all emails: deleted within a day. We keep only a scrambled marker of your address, so we never add you again by mistake.
• If you stay: 24 months after you last confirmed or changed your choices, then deleted unless you tell us again that you want to hear from us.

How to leave or change your mind

Every email has a link to your choices, where you can untick anything or stop all emails in one tap, with no sign-in. It works at once. You can also email [email protected] to see what we hold, correct it or have it deleted. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we would like the chance to help first.

Who helps us

• Google Cloud stores the list, in London (europe-west2).
• Resend sends our emails, from its EU region in Ireland. Resend is a US company, so some account and support data may be handled in the US under data-transfer safeguards.
• Cloudflare hosts famoo.app and passes your sign-up to our service. It does not keep it.
