Famoo terms
Version 2026-11-02. In force from 2 November 2026.
The short version
- Famoo is free to use. You never have to pay to keep using it.
- You can choose a paid plan, Famoo Plus. You see the price and these terms before you agree, and nothing is charged during your 30-day free trial.
- You can cancel a paid plan at any time in the app, with no phone call.
- Do not rely on Famoo for anything that matters if it fails, such as medicine times or allergies.
- Be kind and lawful. Only add children you are responsible for.
- You can leave at any time. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
1. Who we are
Famoo is provided by GEMINAI LTD, company number 13946343, registered in England and Wales, registered office 69 Nethergreen Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S11 7EH ("we", "us"). Famoo is the name of the app.
Contact: [email protected], or Help, then Report a problem, in the app. About your information: [email protected].
2. What Famoo is
Famoo is a family app for jobs and points, homework, the calendar, shopping, meals and learning. We keep improving it, so features may be added, changed or removed. If we remove something you pay for, section 12 applies.
These terms, the terms of the plan you accept (section 9), and our privacy notice are the whole agreement. If they ever seem to disagree, the privacy notice wins on anything about your information.
3. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or over and live in the UK to create an account. You confirm this by ticking "I am 18 or over".
- Only add a child to your home if you are their parent or have parental responsibility for them. A grandparent or carer may add a child only with the agreement of the child's parent.
- To link a child to a second home, you need the other parent's agreement, unless a court order says otherwise.
- Children use Famoo through the home an adult set up. They do not agree to these terms and cannot buy anything. The adult who set up the home is responsible for how it is used.
4. Free and paid
- The free plan is open to every home, at any time. You do not need a card for it.
- Famoo Plus is an optional paid plan for one home. It unlocks the parts of the app the plan screen lists, for everyone in that home, while the plan is active. Section 9 sets out how it works.
- Optional extra modules we may add later, such as My Finance Safe or learning modules, may be charged separately. We never add one, or charge for one, without asking you first.
- Moving to the free plan never deletes anything. Everything your home has added stays viewable and exportable on any plan.
5. Do not rely on it for anything that matters if it fails
Keep your usual way of handling medicine times, allergies, school deadlines and collection times.
- Meals. Meal plans take into account the allergies and diets you have told Famoo about, and avoid recipes marked with them. A recipe or product can still contain something it should not, so always check every recipe, ingredient and product label yourself before you cook, order or eat.
- Calendar. If you connect Google Calendar, Famoo can add and change events in the calendars you choose. Changes show up in Google too. Check anything important.
- Learn. Lessons come from Oak National Academy and other sources. Some content is checked or written by AI and labelled. It is not a substitute for school or professional advice.
- AI assistant. If you connect your own AI assistant, its answers come from your AI provider, not from us, and can be wrong. Check before you act on them. Your provider's terms apply to it.
6. Your content
What you put into Famoo stays yours. You let us store it, back it up and show it to the people your settings allow, only so we can run Famoo for you. You can download or delete it at any time.
7. Using Famoo properly
Please do not:
- add anyone to your home, or link a child, without the right to;
- use Famoo to watch, control or harass anyone, including a former partner;
- put anything illegal, hateful or harmful into Famoo, including in notes, job names or rewards;
- try to get into another home, someone else's private records, or our systems;
- copy, resell, overload or take apart the app.
If something in Famoo looks harmful or illegal, tell us at once: Help, then Report a problem, or [email protected].
If someone breaks these rules, or we think a child is at risk, we may pause or remove the home or that person's access. We will tell you why, unless the law or a child's safety stops us. If this ends a paid plan, section 12 says what happens to your money.
8. Feedback
Thank you for telling us what works and what does not. We may use your ideas to improve Famoo. We never publish your words without your written agreement, and never a child's.
9. Famoo Plus: terms of sale
9.1 Who you are buying from
GEMINAI LTD sells Famoo Plus and takes your payment through Square. Your card details go to Square, not to Famoo. Square emails your receipts to the email address you sign in with.
9.2 What you pay
You pay the price shown on the plan screen when you accept the plan. That screen also shows the exact words of the plan, and we keep a copy of them with your home's record, so you and we can always see what you agreed. We may offer different prices at different times, or to different homes. A change to the price on offer never changes a plan you have already accepted, except as that plan's own words say.
No VAT is charged at the moment. If we ever have to charge VAT, we will add it to your price and tell you at least 30 days before the first payment that includes it, so you can cancel first if you want to.
The founding offer, open to homes that join by 31 December 2026:
- Yearly: £36, which covers you until 31 December 2027. From 1 January 2028 it is £36 a year, our thank you for joining early, and the price never goes up for you for as long as you keep this plan. The only exception is VAT, if we ever have to charge it (see above). If we ever have to stop Famoo Plus, section 9.7 says what happens.
- Monthly: £4.99 a month, an introductory price until 31 December 2027. Payments taken after 31 December 2027 are £5.99 a month, our usual price. We tell you at least 30 days before your first payment at £5.99.
Other offers will follow. Whatever offer you accept, its price and words are the ones shown when you accept it.
9.3 Free trial
The first 30 days are free. We take your card details when you accept the plan, but nothing is charged before your free trial ends. We remind you 7 days before it ends, by email and on the plan screen. A home has one free trial: accepting a plan again later does not start another.
9.4 When you pay
- Yearly: the first payment is taken the day after your free trial ends. The next is on 1 January 2028, then once a year on 1 January, until you cancel. We remind you before the 1 January 2028 payment.
- Monthly: the first payment is taken the day after your free trial ends, then once a month on the same date, until you cancel.
- Your bank may ask you to confirm a payment. If a payment fails, the paid parts of the plan pause until a payment goes through. Nothing your home has added is deleted.
9.5 Cancelling
You can cancel at any time in Settings, then Plan and billing, with no phone call and no questions. Cancel during the free trial and nothing is ever charged. After a payment, cancelling stops the next one: you keep the plan until the end of the time you have paid for (31 December 2027 for the yearly plan's first payment; the end of that month for the monthly plan), then your home moves to the free plan.
9.6 Refunds and your right to change your mind
Ask within 14 days of any payment and we refund it in full, and the paid plan then ends. After 14 days a payment is not refunded, and you keep the plan to the end of the time it paid for. To ask, use Help in the app or email [email protected]. A refund goes back to the card the payment came from, through Square.
The law also gives you 14 days to cancel a contract made online, starting the day after you enter it. Our refund promise is meant to be at least as generous as that right.
Your 14 days to change your mind start the day after you accept the plan. They fall inside your 30-day free trial, so nothing has been charged if you cancel then. We never ask anyone to give up their right to cancel. A message through Help, or an email, is enough: you do not need a form.
9.7 If we end a plan
If we stop offering a plan, we tell you at least 30 days before your next payment and do not take it. If we end your plan early for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the part of the time you have paid for and not had. We would only end a plan early if it is being misused, for example to harm others or to break the law.
10. Leaving
You can stop using Famoo at any time, without a reason. Cancel any paid plan first (section 9.5). Download a copy of your information if you want one, then delete your account or home in the app, or ask us.
11. Our responsibility to you
- We provide Famoo with reasonable care and skill.
- We cannot promise Famoo will always be available, free of faults, or never lose information. We back it up and test our restores. We do our best to keep it running well, and if something goes wrong that is our fault, the law's usual protections apply.
- We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for losses from relying on Famoo against the warnings in section 5.
- Famoo is for family use. We are not responsible for business losses.
- If Famoo damages your device or other digital content because we did not take reasonable care, we will repair it or pay you fair compensation.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
12. If we change or close Famoo
- Changes to these terms. We tell you in the app, and by email if you have a paid plan, at least 14 days before. If you do not agree, you can stop using Famoo, and you can cancel a paid plan and have a refund for any whole time you have paid for and not had. A change never raises the price of a plan you have already accepted, except as that plan's own words say.
- Closing Famoo, or your use of it. We give you at least 30 days' notice and the chance to download your information, unless we must stop sooner for safety, security or the law. We refund the part of any paid time you have not had.
If a change is to your disadvantage, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel and get a refund for any time you have paid for and not had.
13. Complaints, law and disputes
Please talk to us first: most things can be put right with a message. Use Help in the app, or email [email protected]. We acknowledge every complaint within 30 days, and aim to give you a full answer within one month.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts.
